3 days - by Rail

Price from £219.90 per person*
Departs 17th Mar 2017

Single person supplement : £100.00 per person

The eternal greats of classical music are flashes of cultural brilliance, jam–packed with patterns, pyrotechnics and musical explosions of colour and light that have never lost their sparkle. Wouldn't it be amazing if you could see all this as well as hear it?

Well that's exactly what you get with the Classical Spectacular at the Albert Hall. Now in its 29th year, this is the classical music concert for your eyes as well as your ears. Imagine the rousing thrill of Handel's Hallelujah Chorus to a synchronised laser light show, Sousa's Liberty Bell March in pulsing scarlet stripes or Strauss's Also Sprach Zarathustra in rhapsodies of iridescent sky blue.

Here's the full rundown...

Strauss Also sprach Zarathustra

Saint–Saens Finale from Organ Symphony No. 3

Handel Hallelujah Chorus

Sousa Liberty Bell March

Jenkins Benedictus from The Armed Man

Tchaikovsky Waltz of the Flowers

Puccini O Soave Fanciulla

Suppe Light Cavalry Overture

Verdi Sempre Libera & Brindisi from La Traviata

Denza Funiculi, Funicula

Elgar Pomp and Circumstance March No.1, "Land of Hope and Glory"

Puccini Nessun Dorma

Arne Rule, Britannia!

Parry Jerusalem

Tchaikovsky 1812 Overture with thundering cannons and indoor fireworks

Performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, this is no sombre and highbrow occasion, but a fun event where you'll know more of the pieces than you realise. For instance, Liberty Bell is better known as the Monty Python theme and of course Zarathustra was the main theme to the legendary Kubrick film 2001, A Space Odyssey.
